Other than the temperature and polarization anisotropy, the CMB frequency spectrum is expected to feature tiny departures from the black-body law known as spectral distortions. Either such coherence is acausally fine-tuned, or cosmic inflation occurred. Moreover, the fluctuations are coherent on angular scales that are larger than the apparent cosmological horizon at recombination. The high degree of uniformity throughout the observable universe and its faint but measured anisotropy lend strong support for the Big Bang model in general and the ΛCDM ("Lambda Cold Dark Matter") model in particular. As a result, most cosmologists consider the Big Bang model of the universe to be the best explanation for the CMB. Although many different processes might produce the general form of a black body spectrum, no model other than the Big Bang has yet explained the fluctuations. This is a very active field of study, with scientists seeking both better data (for example, the Planck spacecraft) and better interpretations of the initial conditions of expansion. They have been measured in detail, and match what would be expected if small thermal variations, generated by quantum fluctuations of matter in a very tiny space, had expanded to the size of the observable universe we see today. In particular, the spectral radiance at different angles of observation in the sky contains small anisotropies, or irregularities, which vary with the size of the region examined. The glow is very nearly uniform in all directions, but the tiny residual variations show a very specific pattern, the same as that expected of a fairly uniformly distributed hot gas that has expanded to the current size of the universe. Alternatively, if spectral radiance is defined as dE λ/ dλ, then the peak wavelength is 1.063 mm (282 GHz, 1.168 ×10 −3 eV photons). The spectral radiance dE ν/ dν peaks at 160.23 GHz, in the microwave range of frequencies, corresponding to a photon energy of about 6.626 ×10 −4 eV. The CMB has a thermal black body spectrum at a temperature of 2.725 48 ☐.000 57 K. Precise measurements of the CMB are critical to cosmology, since any proposed model of the universe must explain this radiation. 9.2 Microwave background radiation predictions and measurements.9.1 Thermal (non-microwave background) temperature predictions.9 Timeline of prediction, discovery and interpretation. The surface of last scattering refers to the set of points in space at the right distance from us so that we are now receiving photons originally emitted from those points at the time of photon decoupling. This is the source of the alternative term relic radiation. The photons that existed at the time of photon decoupling have been propagating ever since, though growing less energetic, since the expansion of space causes their wavelength to increase over time (and wavelength is inversely proportional to energy according to Planck's relation). Cosmologists refer to the time period when neutral atoms first formed as the recombination epoch, and the event shortly afterwards when photons started to travel freely through space is referred to as photon decoupling. Unlike the plasma, these newly conceived atoms could not scatter the thermal radiation by Thomson scattering, and so the universe became transparent. When the temperature had dropped enough, protons and electrons combined to form neutral hydrogen atoms. As the universe expanded the plasma grew cooler and the radiation filling it expanded to longer wavelengths. When the universe was young, before the formation of stars and planets, it was denser, much hotter, and filled with an opaque fog of hydrogen plasma. The accidental discovery of the CMB in 1965 by American radio astronomers Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson was the culmination of work initiated in the 1940s, and earned the discoverers the 1978 Nobel Prize in Physics.ĬMB is landmark evidence of the Big Bang origin of the universe. This glow is strongest in the microwave region of the radio spectrum. However, a sufficiently sensitive radio telescope shows a faint background brightness, or glow, almost uniform, that is not associated with any star, galaxy, or other object. With a traditional optical telescope, the space between stars and galaxies (the background) is completely dark (see: Olbers' paradox). It is an important source of data on the early universe because it is the oldest electromagnetic radiation in the universe, dating to the epoch of recombination when the first atoms were formed. The CMB is faint cosmic background radiation filling all space. In Big Bang cosmology the cosmic microwave background ( CMB, CMBR) is electromagnetic radiation that is a remnant from an early stage of the universe, also known as "relic radiation".

That'll make the site you're viewing look like it's being viewed in the phone you selected. See that bar at the top of the screen, directly beneath the address bar? Click on the area where it says "Responsive" and pick out whatever type of device you want from the list that pops up. Here's the trick: Start with the same first step we just went over - Ctrl-Shift-I (or Cmd-Option-I on a Mac) - then pause for a second. So you really want to get wild, you say? Well, wrap your tech-titillated hindbrain around this: In addition to snagging regular screenshots using this method, you can also capture a screenshot of a site's mobile interface right from your computer with almost the exact same set of steps. Whatever screenshot you capture will show up as a regular image file download along the bottom of your browser window you can then open the file by double-clicking it right there or by looking in your Chrome downloads folder. There's also a fourth option, "Capture node screenshot," but you probably won't want to mess with that. If you want to capture a screenshot only of the current visible area, hit the up arrow once that'll take you to the "Capture screenshot" option. #Webpage capture plugin full size#If you want to capture the entire page, as if you were scrolling from the very top to the very bottom, hit the down arrow once and select "Capture full size screenshot.".If you want to capture a specific area of the current page, just hit Enter that'll select the default option of "Capture area screenshot," which will then allow you to draw a box around the area you want to save. All that's left is to figure out which one you want: You'll see a series of screenshot options appear in a panel on the right side of the screen. In the short-term, at least, this means that virtually none of the major sports sims have any competitor of note. ⬅️ Tinder Profil Photo ➡️ First Date /gDM7tm1xts- Monster Flair September 30, 2021ĮFootball 2022 Zombie Edition. Even if it doesn't end up being a death knell for the series, it's certainly a missed opportunity to generate some much-needed excitement. With Konami eFootball 2022, though, it appears that Konami has squandered all of its hard-won momentum, as what might have been a big release has instead devolved into scores of derisive memes. It was hardly enough to overtake FIFA, which raked in somewhere in the neighborhood of a billion dollars last year, but for those tired of EA's sweaty pace and loot box mechanics, it wasn't a bad alternative. Efootball 2022 memes download#Its lack of licenses was offset by a robust user community that made it easy to download kits and logos that would replace the generic placeholders within the game. In recent years, PES has enjoyed a mini-renaissance, buoyed by arguably superior gameplay and the wider backlash against FIFA Ultimate Team. Efootball 2022 memes license#I'm sure the dev team still keeps an eye on PES for ideas and inspiration but EA couldn't care less now about what PES does, aside from annoyingly grabbing a license here or there," they wrote. "FUT shot FIFA into a new market and it now competes with other major entertainment IPs built around sustained services. In a separate thread, one Reddit commenter opined that FIFA's real competitor is Fortnite. Since then, PES and FIFA have largely gone in opposite directions, with FIFA becoming a true global mega franchise while PES has regressed into more of a regional competitor. Efootball 2022 memes pro#The last truly great PES game was arguably 2006's Pro Evolution Soccer 6, which saw release a few years before FIFA introduced Ultimate Team and became the juggernaut that it is today. To be fair, PES was poor competition even before the Konami eFootball debacle. The backlash has been intense - Konami eFootball 2021 is one of the worst-reviewed Steam games of all time. Adding insult to injury is that last year's release was treated as a placeholder game, with fans asked to sit tight for an even better release down the road. With its strange glitches, poor character models, and zombie-like crowds, Konami eFootball 2022 is effectively a pre-alpha release masquerading as a finished product. The results, to put it mildly, have not been good. With no competition, 2K has little incentive to change its ways, even as fans take to sites like Metacritic to voice their displeasure.Įnter Konami's eFootball 2022, the latest attempt to reboot Pro Evolution Soccer, née Winning Eleven, this time as a free-to-play soccer sim. These days, NBA 2K22's positives are buried beneath an avalanche of product placements and microtransactions. At the time, NBA 2K was a critically acclaimed basketball sim - NBA 2K11 is often called one of the finest sports games ever made - but it didn't take long for the lack of competition to have an effect on the franchise. Think of this as a folder style view to help with sorting and overall organization. These are more directly related for example, I have created a group for TechRepublic posts within DEVONthink to keep my post submissions together. Similar to tagging, grouping allows you to pull similar documents together. Using tags can increase productivity by decreasing the time needed to find documents you have added to the database. DEVONthink supports this as well, allowing tags to be added to every document, item, or folder stored within the database. Those of us with blogs or who use the Internet regularly are likely familiar with the idea of tagging - adding keywords to your posts that help them be found more easily. Figure AĭEVONthink Pro Office (click to enlarge) Tagging This is a feature I was not expecting, but is definitely a pleasant surprise. When I edit it from within the database, Word does all the work, but the save goes back to the database and all changes are kept. For example, this post was stored in DEVONthink as a Word document. When working on documents stored in the database, you can access a preview of a document from the DEVONthink application as well as push it out to be edited by the application associated with the document. Using tags and groups to classify your data, DEVONthink helps to make you more productive by storing your information in a very searchable manner.Ĭontent can be imported into the database from Finder, email, web bookmarks, and pretty much any other source you can think of. What is DEVONthink?ĭEVONthink is a database for tagging and tracking information of all kinds. While surfing the Internet to solve a different problem, I came across DEVONthink and was a intrigued to see if it could help me manage my information. The volume of data that needs to be tracked, on my laptop alone is astounding and to do that using the traditional file/folder hierarchy becomes less useful with each document. Keeping track of documents, files, and folders becomes increasingly more challenging everyday. #Devonthink pro office box for mac#See if DEVONthink for Mac works for your data management needsĭerek Schauland introduces DEVONthink for the Mac - a database management application that helps you store, organize, and search many types of data in one handy app. News of a hacker who hacked at least 29 other botnet hackers. #Filemail safe pirated movie code#We've got Mozilla's announcement about deliberate code obfuscation in their browser add-ons, essentially following Google's previous position. Another wrinkle in the exploit marketplace the marketplace for zero-day exploits has surfaced. Google's announcement, welcome announcement, and I guess very surprising in retrospect since we've talked about what the Congress, the letter that had been written last week, their self-expiring data retention system, which is as far as I know not yet available, but due imminently. We're going to look at this, as I said, the mess with Mozilla's intermediate certificate expiration. And in fact the screw-up of Mozilla's over the weekend was one of the most oft-tweeted things into my Twitter stream that we've seen in a long time because Mozilla did something that messed things up for add-ons to Firefox.Īnyway, lots of stuff to talk about. But as I assembled the overall news of what happened in the past week, I thought, you know, this is sort of the web browser podcast because there's just a lot of browser news. And the question was what are we going to see in terms of replacement strategy for, okay, we no longer have an online service, so what fills the vacuum? Well, we know what the answer to that is a few months downstream, so we're going to talk about that. Maybe it's been two months.Īnyway, we are now after Coinhive. And so here we are - maybe it was March 8th. So he closed his doors a month ago, on March 8th. And of course we talked about it at the time, how the relative collapse in the previously very high valuation of cryptocurrencies no longer really meant that it was worth the substantial reputational damage that this guy was taking from the fact that his service was so much abused by mal actors who were foisting his script onto unwitting users' browsers. And that's like, sorry, we're going to be closing down. Today's podcast is titled "Post-Coinhive Cryptojacking" because we discussed this months ago when the announcement was made by the ill-reputed Coinhive guy that he was shuttering his, well, he doesn't really have doors. #Filemail safe pirated movie Patch#And so it occurred to me, it's like, oh, look, Wednesday was the first, so that means we're going to have a very late Patch Tuesday, and I don't need to worry about it this time. I guess what occurs to me is I'm always checking back to see what happened in the previous week. I don't know why that matters, but just a random observation. This is the latest occurring first Tuesday possible of the month, being the 7th of, what is it, May, which is to say that next Tuesday will be Patch Tuesday, also as far into a month as possible.
